On October 23rd residents of the Sustainable Living Community took a trip to Arab Qatar Farm, in Shahaniya, Qatar. The farm grows and sells local produce as well as plants and flowers. The tour included learning about what kind of plants and produce Qatar is able to grow, as well as showing students the step-by-step process of growing the produce from soil to selling. Residents learned buying from the grower instead of a grocery store or local market cuts costs significantly. The price of a package of cucumbers costs only QR15 at the Arab Qatar Farm.
