A big thank you to our maintenance officer, Abdul Gaffoor, and all the maintenance workers that keep our residence halls in great shape! This academic year we have received over 2300 maintenance requests, ranging from A/C units not working to plumbing issues, to bath tubs being cracked. The dedication of Gaffoor and his team ensures that measures are taken to prevent damage to the facilities, as well as respond quickly when things do go wrong! Any idea what the most requested maintenance job was for? The handyman for electrical and civil work was requested 638 times! Second was plumbing and third was AC with 434 and 433 requests respectively.
We’d also like to recognize Faten, and her wonderful Hall Desk Clerk Staff. These nine amazing individuals; Shaheena, Gina, Maha, Shaya, Lubna, Mai, Halima, Khan, and Gamer work hard day in day out (including Saturdays!) to ensure that maintenance workers are properly accompanied when access student apartments, as well as preparing student rooms, assisting with check-ins and check-out, keeping paperwork up-to-date, as well as providing general housing support throughout the day. We thank you all for your efforts.
